NSW Farm Wedding | Annie & George
A farm wedding in Holbrook, NSW

Annie and George were married on their farm near Holbrook in southern NSW. Rather than bringing everyone to a traditional wedding venue, they built the day around a place that was already part of their lives. The farm gave the wedding its setting, but more importantly it gave it a sense of familiarity that would have been difficult to recreate anywhere else.
Photographing a wedding at home changes the rhythm of the day. There is less separation between the wedding and everything around it. Family, landscape and all the small details of the property become part of the photographs naturally. My approach was to keep that feeling intact, documenting things as they happened and stepping in with direction only when it helped.

Farm Wedding Photography in NSW
Holbrook sits between Sydney and Melbourne in the Riverina, surrounded by open country that lends itself beautifully to a farm wedding. For Annie and George, the landscape was not simply a backdrop. It was part of the story of the day, from the spaces where everyone gathered through to portraits made around the property later in the afternoon.

Wedding photography across the South Coast and NSW is particularly suited to a documentary approach, and country weddings like this give that approach plenty of room to work. There is room for things to happen without over-organising them, while the scale of the landscape gives the quieter portraits a completely different character. The aim is still simple: photographs that feel considered without making the wedding feel like a production.
