Why get married in Kangaroo Valley?
Nestled in between the South Coast and Southern Highlands is a pocket of Australia that is blessed with some of the most wild landscape, incredible gorges and amazing views. And each of these venues makes the most of these surroundings in their own way. Kangaroo Valley really is a special place. The sunsets here rival the best in the world and while both Berry and Bowral are short trips away (25 and 40 mins respectively), you really do feel like you’re in another world. As you make your way from the South Coast up Berry Mountain, you leave everything behind and enter a laid-back and completely relaxed part of NSW.
Kangaroo Valley itself is stunning with the beautiful local pub, The Friendly Inn, having amazing views and a playground to entertain the little ones. There’s also plenty of amazing accomodation for your guests that aren’t staying onsite with you as well as really lovely cottages and luxury retreats for getting ready in. The area has everything you need for a perfect weekender wedding and there’s a tonne that your friends and family can do the day before and after including hikes followed by lunch at the pub.

After being tragically impacted by the 2019/20 bushfires in the area, the venue has been restored and is back to its absolute best with genuinely unrivalled views across Kangaroo Valley. It also has the most unique ceremony location I’ve ever seen, set in amongst a stunning rock formation.
Melross & Willows Estate

Another venue set in the heart of Kangaroo Valley, Melross has plenty of on-site accommodation and is surrounded by lavender, wildlife and amazing hills either side. With seating of up to 170, it’s perfect for bigger weddings.
Ooralba Estate

Very few venues have such a luxurious feel while being set in such gorgeous wild surroundings. The venue has been designed to enjoy as much of the views as possible and the property features some amazing ceremony locations as well as plenty of room for marquees.

Set buried into the Kangaroo Valley bush, this small wedding venue is honestly just so aesthetic. If you’re a lover of wild natural spaces, then you’ve found the perfect place for your wedding. There are ceremony platforms with the most incredible views and the reception space is an ideal blank canvas.
Weddings In The Wilde

If you’re looking for a Wedstival vibe, then you have to visit this venue in the middle of Kangaroo Valley. More stripped back, this beautiful venue leans more into its natural surroundings and includes a very cool yurt for partying into the evening.

For something smaller and free from the restraints of larger weddings, consider a tiny wedding in Kangaroo Valley.
So I have dreams of photographing beautiful, meaningful intimate weddings and Kangaroo Valley is the absolute ideal place for it. Here in Australia we’re so fortunate to be able to do the legal stuff essentially anywhere so my approach for an intimate wedding in Kangaroo Valley would be to find some very aesthetically pleasing accommodation on one of the beautiful properties, find a celebrant who fits your vibe and book me in to photograph it.

Private caterers are able to come in and prepare food and drinks for you and your select guests and all that’s left is to do is dress yourselves and work with me to layout the day in a way that’s stress-free and feels exactly how you want.
